What is the minimum age for football?

The minimum age for football is 7 yrs. Old.

What does my child need to have for the first day of Football practice?

Football cleats are a must to practice on our field and play at the Renton Stadium.

Boys are recommended to wear a sports cup. All players will need a practice jersey or old T-Shirt that will fit over shoulder pads and bottle of water to stay hydrated, a good attitude and be ready to learn.

What is the minimum age for cheer?

The minimum age for cheer is 7 years old.

What does my child need to have for the first day of Cheer practice?

Cheer practice is outside and clothing should be weather appropriate. No jewelry, candy or gum. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated , Long hair must be up in a ponytail off the shoulders. Regular tennis shoes with shoestrings that tie are a must. Be ready to yell, learn new cheers, and have fun!

How do I sign up?

Please visit the “sign up” page on our web site for up to date information. Sign up’s are held beginning in May and continue through the first week of August, final deadlines vary for football and cheer.

What can I do if I want to volunteer on game days?

Please see a board member or coach or team mom for ways to help on game days. We are always looking for volunteers to run the chains, help clean the stadium, bring snacks, run the scoreboard or help with the announcers, and booster table.

What does it mean to run the chains or “chain gang”?

The chain gang is a group of three to hold the pylon markers along side of the field. These markers are moved as the play advances along the field.

Do the coaches get paid?

No, all coaches, assistant coaches, and board members are volunteering their time to benefit the growth and success of the community. Each member has made a commitment to Benson Bruins for the entire year.

Do the coaches and other volunteers have back ground checks?

Yes, all coaching staff, volunteers and board members have passed a Washington State Patrol background check.

Are pets allowed at practice?

No, pets are not allowed at practice or in game stadiums.

Are parents allowed to stay through practice?

Yes, we encourage parent participation and welcome you to stay for the duration of your child’s practice.

How much are participation fees?

Registration fees for football and cheer for the 2011 season are $150. Additional costs for cheer uniform pieces and fundraiser. For more information please contact us at sign-ups, or call us at 425-793-4033.

Is there a required fundraiser?

Yes, each player will be required to participate in a fundraiser. Details will be released at sign-ups.
